The Institute of Aerospace and Telecommunications Law organizes an international conference on the ‘Unmanned Aircraft Systems and the Evolving Regulatory Environment’ in Budapest on September 12, 2025.

The conference will bring together leading international and Hungarian experts, policymakers, researchers, and industry representatives to explore the evolving landscape of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), with a special focus on the integration of Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) in Hungary.

The event will serve as a platform for in-depth discussions on the legal, technical, and operational challenges surrounding the regulation and practical deployment of both civilian and military drones. A key topic of the conference will be the dual-use nature of UAS technology, which presents unique regulatory challenges and opportunities - particularly in light of recent advancements in artificial intelligence and automation.

As part of the event, the book ‘International Aviation Law - Regulations in Three Dimensions’, authored by Dr. Attila Sipos, Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Aerospace and Telecommunications Law, will also be presented.

Following the academic programme, a public drone demonstration and airshow will take place at the Ludovika University Campus, where several Hungarian and international companies will conduct flight demonstrations, presenting innovative drone capabilities and applications.

Attendance at the conference is free of charge, however, prior registration is required as the places are limited.
