UNOOSA Space Law Technical Advisory Mission in Ghana

At the invitation of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), the Director of our Institute, Dr. Balázs Bartóki-Gönczy has participated in a high-level Space Law Technical Advisory Mission in Accra, Ghana. The mission, aimed at supporting national capacity-building efforts in space governance, brought together global legal experts to assist Ghana in shaping its approach to space activities.

Dr. Bartóki-Gönczy delivered a presentation focused on liability issues related to damages caused by space objects, as well as the legal frameworks surrounding Earth observation. These are critical topics as countries like Ghana expand their involvement in space-based technologies and applications.

The event was hosted by the Ghana Space Science and Technology Institute.
