On 22 May 2025, researchers of our Institute participated in a conference in memory of Professor László Bodnár. The event was organised in collaboration with the Faculty of Law (Department of International and European Law) at the University of Szeged and the International Law Subcommittee of the Committee on Law at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
The conference was titled “The place, role and impact of international law in Hungarian law – 1990–2025 (Conference in memory of Professor László Bodnár)”. The conference paid tribute to Professor Bodnár’s life and work, focusing on his former research topic: the impact of international law on the Hungarian legal system.
Dr. Mónika Ganczer (Associate Professor) gave a presentation entitled ‘The Authorisation and Supervision of Space Activities by Non-State Actors in International and Domestic Law’. In her lecture, Dr. Ganczer emphasised that, despite today's advanced technology, the regulation of space activities remains incomplete, making the authorisation and supervision of space activities a regulatory priority at both the international and domestic levels.
Dr. Attila Sipos (senior research fellow) gave a presentation entitled ‘The Enforcement of Comprehensive Rules of International Civil Aviation in National Law. Aviation standards and practice’. In his presentation, Dr. Sipos emphasised the importance of states incorporating the standards adopted by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) into national law, and the potential consequences of non-compliance for states and their aviation industries.
