Graduated students of the first UNISPACE postgraduate training programme (class of 2022-2024) has participated at the remarkable running race event NN Ultrabalaton on the 26th of April 2025, forming a UNISPACE running relay team of 13 (of which 11 were former UNISPACE students). The participants of the UNISPACE team graduated at three different sections, such as space policy experts, space scientists, and innovative nutrition and space health experts.
Despite of the windy and rainy weather all day, the UNISPACE team stayed motivated and spent the race in a very good mood. The race run for them as planned with smooth relays. The UNISPACE team performed the 221 km in 23 hours 39 minutes.
Hungary’s most popular community sports event, the NN Ultrabalaton, took place for the 19th time in 2025. This yearly organised one-lap race around Lake Balaton is Central Europe’s longest running race (211 km), which participants can complete individually, in relays, running or cycling. The race has 56 parts with different lengths, of which some can also be merged depending of the runners’ wish. The lap starts (and ends) at Balatonfüred.
