We have hosted the pre-final event for the CanSat 2025 competition at the Ludovika Public Service University on the 8th of March, 2025. The European Space Agency organized the satellite building competition for secondary school students traditionally every year since three years now. The students forming teams of three to six members are challenged to plan, design and build soda can sized satellites. The CanSat is then launched by a rocket up to an altitude of approximately one kilometer, or dropped from a platform, drone or captive balloon. The project also involves carrying out a scientific experiment and/or a technology demonstration, achieving a safe landing, and analysing the data collected.
At the ceremony hosted by the LUPS each participants of the record-breaking forty-four semi-finalist teams have been awarded gifts and the ten teams continuing the competition to the final has been announced. The Hungarian round of the CanSat is traditionally organized by the Hungarian Astronautical Society and is supported by the National Media and Communications Authority (NMHH), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the competition is implemented within the framework of the ESERO Hungary.
Congratulations to all participants and we wish good luck for the teams participating in the final round!
