Trip to the Infotér Conference 2023

Professional trip to the Infotér Conference 2023 – Day 0 - Defense & Space

On the 17th of October, 12 students of the University of Public Service have had the opportunity to visit the Infotér Conference on its day 0 in Balatonfüred. On this day of the conference, two topics were in focus: space industry and national defence. The latest immersive technology, augmented reality (XR), is playing a key role in both. Its power lies in the fact that it includes both VR and AR, and its range of possible uses is actually endless. It can play a role in countless areas: we can use it to train an army and even model a space mission with it. On the spot, the participants could see and even try some of these technological devices.

The students have heard different presentations about the HUNOR (Hungarian to Orbit) program (Hungarian research astronaut program), could listen to round table discussions about the new place of medicine, law and education in space sector, or about the connection between gardening (plant grow) and space exploration, or even about the rocket researches in the European universities.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the round table discussion with the four Hungarian astronaut candidate of the HUNOR program. The conversation showed us that they form a strong team, supporting, helping each other in every training situation, without any rivalry. Although by the end of this year, only two of the four astronaut candidates remain and continue the training.
