Dr. Krisztina Tilinger participated and presented her research at the Summer Academy of the Academy of International Affairs NRW

Our researcher, Dr. Krisztina Tilinger has been invited to present the Institute and her research before international space diplomats and scholars researching this field at the Academy of International Affairs NRW in Bonn, Germany. The Academy is dedicated to the global challenges and structural changes in international politics in the 21st century and Dr. Mayssoun Zein Al Din, the Executive Director of the Academy focuses on promoting scientific and scholarly excellence and builds international and interdisciplinary connections.

Approximately 30 distinguished diplomats and scholars have been selected from around the world to participate in the Summer Academy with the purpose of bringing together experts on the field of outer space affairs. An outstanding opportunity has been given to discuss current developments and future scenarios of planetary geopolitics while focusing on sustainability and international cooperation.

The contribution from Dr. Tilinger was a presentation about the "Analogy in Space Law" that has been inspired many to discuss the potential of taking over already existing legal instruments or tools from other areas of law, like the law of the sea or the air law. Participants had the opportunity to discuss their views and interact with other distinguished speakers, like Dr. Simonetta di Pippo, former Head of UNOOSA, Prof. Jan Wörner, former Director General of ESA and Dr. Gilles Rabin, Space Attaché at the French Embassy in Berlin, Germany. One of the highlights of the event was the visit to the German Aerospace Center (DLR), where the participants had the possibility to hear about the ongoing projects and activities of the Center.
